Funding Priorities
Why do we need more funding? SAVE recognizes the need to provide even more services to our community. Our priorities for the year include:
- Start a second drop-in support group – Attendance has doubled in the past year as the economy began to worsen. There is a connection between unemployment and domestic violence.
- Increase our Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program presentations – Last year we reached over 2,000 teens with a part-time educator. Our goal is to double the number of teens we reach by increasing staff.
- Provide individual therapy for the children in our shelter – Like their mothers, children that witness domestic violence suffer from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and need therapy to address the issue. Currently SAVE has staff that can provide group therapy and play therapy but not the individual attention necessary to stabilize these children
Please help us reach these goals by donating or connecting us to other resources in the community.
