Leadership Profiles
Rodney Clark, Executive Director
Rodney Clark was hired as SAVE’s Executive Director in November 1995. With a male at the helm, it becomes obvious that domestic violence is not “just a women’s issue.” Rodney came to SAVE from Florence Crittenton Services in San Francisco where, as Assistant CEO, he helped to establish an emergency shelter for pregnant and parenting teens who were victims of domestic violence. Prior to that, he worked at Miramonte Mental Health Services in Palo Alto for 11 years. He earned his BA in Psychology from Pomona College in Claremont, CA and an MS in Counseling from San Francisco State University.
Rodney is a member of the East Bay Asian Pacific Islander Coalition, Domestic Violence Collaborative of Alameda County, Greater Bay Area Domestic Violence Directors, and Leadership Fremont Class of 2006. He sits on the Board of Directors for the Alameda County Domestic Advisory Council, the Washington Hospital Foundation, the City of Fremont Family Resource Center, and the City of Fremont Housing Scholarship Board.
SAVE’s Director Receives Award from Congressman Pete Stark
Rodney Clark, Executive Director of SAVE, was selected to receive the 2008 Angels in Adoption award by Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA). This award allows Members of Congress to honor an individual from their community who enriches the lives of foster children and orphans.
Rodney, and 180 others awardees, were honored on September 16 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. Rep. Stark met with Rodney as part of his trip to Washington, DC.
"I'm proud to honor Rodney Clark as an Angel in Adoption," said Rep. Pete Stark. "Each day, through the work Mr. Clark does, he positively impacts the lives of foster children, orphans, and children in at-risk families. He is helping to ensure that all children in our community are kept safe, are provided the tools needed to thrive, and become healthy, educated, and productive adults. I am grateful to Rodney for his tireless effort and dedication to this vital cause."
